Hi! I’m Marina Ferent, a data and R enthusiast! I practice and teach data extraction, cleaning, and further statistical analysis - data analytics, regression analysis, forecasting tools, and composite indicators.
I was a Data Scientist and Head of the Research Team at Orpheus Indices, had different employment relations with the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, and conducted research and taught Statistics and Econometrics at UBB-FSEGA. While I continued to support the research and educational projects of the Multicultural Business Institute, a Romanian NGO, I quit formal employment in 2021 to focus on my Ph.D. research at UBB-FSEGA.
Throughout the years, I happily wrote lots and lots and lots of lines of code in support of the organizations I worked at or for my personal projects. My 2023 goal is to take some time to organize part of this code, document it, and share it step by step. For example, below are two of the R packages that I created to ease the research and reporting stages of my doctoral studies. Perhaps you might find them useful in your work, too. Feedback and suggestions are, obviously, very much welcomed!
Package compIndTools: Tools for computing and validating composite indicators across multiple years helped me easily create composite indicators, run thousands of simulations, and perform uncertainty analysis, while conveniently storing results locally.
Package regrExport: Results and goodness of fit tables for lm, plm, and glmer models helped me export regression results in formats that were ready to add to the research paper.
